The local union hall has been located at 4924 Messer Airport Hwy since 1972. It was then know as Carpenters local 103.

With all the merging of smaller locals around the area Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Bessemer, Clanton, Jasper, Gadsden and Anniston combined into one, here at local 103 in the eighties. A new charter was granted. And Carpenters Local 127 was born in 1987. Carpenters have had a presence in the Birmingham area for almost 100 years.

Carpenters Local 127 now services the central part of Alabama to take care of any contractors needs for a trained craftsman.

Carpenters Local 127 has furnished manpower for the Southern Companies Plants with over 250,000 Man-hours worked for 2006 and generated over 30,000 man hours for trim and fixture work in the area.
